Today is 22nd December, the smallest day of the year.

On the other hand, the night 21st December, last night was the longest night of the year. This, of course, will happen in the Northern Hemisphere countries. However, the reversed case will be happening in the Southern hemisphere. There will be the longest day at the same time.

Although the night was the longest, the moon was with you overnight.
On December 21, the Sun is located on the Capricorn Line and the North Pole remains at the longest distance from it. So the night in the Northern Hemisphere becomes the longest while the day becomes the smallest.
On the other hand, the opposite is seen in the Southern Hemisphere.
From then on, the days get shorter and the nights get bigger in the Southern hemisphere. Finally, on September 23, the sun rests at the point of the equatorial circle. This day and night become equal throughout the world.
From this time onwards, the sun rises in the Northern Hemisphere, gradually the nights till the 21st December become bigger gradually.
