At least five people were killed and the other four were injured severely in a plane crashed just a short distance from the Walmart supermarket at the Lafayette town in Louisiana in the United States on Saturday.

Lafayette Fire Department spokesman Alton Trahan said the plane was heading to Atlanta from Louisiana on Sunday. Shortly after the flight, it hit a car. The car was burned to ashes. Five of the six passengers aboard the plane were killed, they said. But fortunately one survived.
Two other people were also critically injured in the incident. Walmart was evacuated shortly after the accident.
The plane crashed around 9 pm on Saturday night after flying from the airport. A post office nearby was also damaged in the crash.
Louisiana Governor John Edwards expressed condolences to the family and friends of the victim in a tweet.
