US President Donald Trump said on Friday that the United States had killed Qasem Soleimani, one of Iran’s top military figures, with an aim to stop a war at his Mar-a-Lago resort in Florida.
Iran has vowed ‘severe revenge’ on those responsible for the death of Soleimani, head of the Quds Force. Regarding this, he said, we didn’t take action to start a war.
Trump mentioned Soleimani as a cruel person who made the death of innocent people, his sick passion.
Trump accused Qasem Soleimani of planning attacks on American diplomats and military personnel, but he did not elaborate on what they may have been.
Trump said referring to Soleimani’s assassination, “What the United States did yesterday should have been done long ago, a lot of lives would have been saved.”
Soleimani was the head of the Islamic Revolutionary Guards Corps elite ‘Quds Force’, was killed in a U.S. airstrike outside of Baghdad’s airport on Friday morning.
