Six German tourists have been killed and 11 others injured after a suspected drunk driver crashed into a group of people in a town in northern Italy on Sunday.
The accident took place in the early hours when the group of 17, all young people, was waiting by their tourist bus after spending the night at a club in the small town of Luttach in South Tyrol, a police spokesman said.
Of the injured, three are seriously hurt. One has been rushed by helicopter to a hospital in Innsbruck, Austria, while the others are being treated in Italy, reported a media.
The car driver, a 28-year-old local, who failed a breath test for alcohol, has been arrested on suspicion of vehicular manslaughter, the police spokesman said.
